TJ Skulstad
TJ Skulstad (he/him) is a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at Queen's University. Abolitionist elders, ancestors, and co-conspirators have been an ongoing source of inspiration and orientation for TJ's life and work. TJ's research explores the operations of imagination in and across cultural worlds. While social imaginary often serves to maintain existing relationships and systems, collective practices of imagination also hold tremendous emancipatory potential: (trans)forming our sensitivities, setting new horizons within view, and exposing unrecognized paths for a more expansive and interconnected flourishing. The other Abolitionist Dream Mappers have taught TJ a great deal about imagination, as well as being kind, courageous, resilient, and wise.
